Giving Back

So in the last couple of months I’ve discovered a couple of really cool companies and I’ve had the opportunity to be a rep for two of them and I wanted to share a little bit about them!
Serengetee is a crazy cool organization started by two friends and is now run by a ton of really awesome people who all want to do the same thing, give back. Serengetee is a clothing/fabric based company. Ryan Westberg, co-founder of Serengetee, spends a ton of time each year traveling around the world to meet with artisans and to hand-pick fabric to be used in the shirts, hats, backpacks and a whole host of other things the company designs and sells. For each item purchased a percentage goes straight back to the particular artisan or the charity Serengetee supports in each specific country and city.
Serengetee’s slogan is Travel More, which backs their idea of giving back to those in need. Wear the world, change the world embodies what they are trying to do. Because of Serengetee so many people are able to work and to support their families by doing things they love! This semester I’ve had the chance to be a representative for the company and I’ve learned so much about them and I wish I’d found them sooner! Safe to say that I’ll be supporting this company and they’re cute clothes from now on!
Next up I wanna talk about PuraVidaBracelets, a company that gives back in a similar way to Serengetee. Started and based in Costa Rica, PVB helps so many people in their own country as well as a ton of others! Pura Vida literally means pure life in Spanish, and that’s their goal. The designers and artisans behind the bracelets directly receive a portion of the profits. PuraVida also supplies bracelets that directly fund all sorts of charities around the world. And in that case, you can choose where your money is going and what it is helping. I’m just getting to know PuraVida and all that it is but so far I’m extremely impressed. I’ve just been added into their representative ranks (let me know if you want a discount code :P) and I’m really excited to start working with them more! I just received my first package from PVB and I absolutely love their bracelets. They’re high quality and beautifully crafted.

I love to travel and to take pictures and everything that goes along with it. This past summer when I was in Panama I saw first hand how hard some people have it. Knowing that there are charities and companies out there that want to help them make a living for themselves is truly amazing.
I know this is post is random in comparison to others but I think I might start doing some reviews on my favorite things. Maybe monthly or something like that! I’d love to hear feedback from you on what you think about that!
